Every day, people make claims on their insurance for all kinds of needs. Unfortunately, in many cases, the insurance company contests the claims due to certain circumstances, not meeting insurance requirements. Too often, the “fine print” articulates clauses that work to protect the insurance company and not you. At Guild/HMS Insurance Group, we do things a little differently with our DIY Insurance.
What Does DIY Stand For?
You probably hear or see the acronym “DIY” everywhere, and you probably already know what it stands for: “do it yourself.” Which is a pretty straightforward concept. But “DIY” can mean totally different things for different people, because really, it could be about so many things. It could be about building your own planters, patching a hole in the wall, cutting your own hair, managing your own investments, and so much more.
Essentially, DIY means that, instead of buying goods from a store or hiring a professsional to complete a specific task – you’re choosing to create that product yourself with no direct help from an expert.
It only makes sense that the “DIY” label gets added to a lot of projects, and almost everything from creating your kids slime to patching a hole in a wall yourself counts as a DIY project. But DIY Insurance from Guild/HMS Insurance goes beyond that. We have built out a number of specialty DIY Insurance products that give you the ability to build and buy your insurance policy online, with the added perk of an insurance professional to work with you during and after the purchase.
