This year, Guild Insurance Brokers & HMS Insurance Agencies was chosen to select and present the Portage Mutual Agents Association Bursary to a graduating student. The bursary is $1250, and will be awarded to a student that meets the following criteria:
- Graduating from Grade 12 in June of 2020.
- Is enrolled in a post-secondary education program.
- Requires financial assistance.
- Shows hard work ethic.
- Was active in student activities in and outside of school.
One half of the bursary will be paid after written confirmation of enrollment has been received from the student.
The second half of the bursary will be awarded once the student has provided written confirmation of successful completion of the first semester and enrollment for the second semester.
Once awarded the bursary, a student has a 2-year time period to use the bursary, after which time the funds would be put back into the Agent’s Association’s bursary account to be redistributed to another qualifying student.
